Climbing Sites in the Sierra de Guadarrama
The Pedriza.
The large number of cracks, walls, domes and collapses make La Pedriza the most famous climbing area in the Sierra de Guardarana, with more than 2.000 open routes and 1.500 blocks. Among others, the main sites are: El Indio, El Yelmo North Face, El Yelmo South Face, The Kumbaya Wall, Cancho Butrón, Cancho de los Heather, Cancho de los Muertos, La Tortuga, La Muralla China, El Muro, Sector de la Tortuga, Pan de Kilo, Peña Sirio. Massif of Peñalara.
With 150 climbing routes, as well as channels and ice cascades for winter climbing, the Peñalara Massif was re-equipped at 2001 with new anchors. Similarly, in some areas the equipment was removed to maintain its conservation as the Wall of the Dam or as the Black Wall of Peñalara where only ice climbing is allowed. Some of the main places for lovers of climbing in Madrid are: the Pared del Zabala, the Contrafuerte de la Teresa, the Zona de Bloques de Dos Hermanas or the Pared Claveles.

We are in front of the 3 most outstanding sites for rock climbing. Almost all are short routes, with a maximum of 40 little equipped meters, reaching between 20 and 30 routes.
The Malicious
More than 60 classic climbing routes, some with a verticality and length interrupted by shelves. For example, in La Maliciosa, one of the most important mountains of the Sierra de Guadarrama, it can be climbed with snow and ice in the southern part.
Cordal of the Cabrillas.
Located in the area of the Navalmedio valley and the Barranca, we are facing one of the climbing places in the Sierra de Guadarrama. The high areas and ridges offer possibilities for rock climbing, ice and snow, although the tracks are poorly equipped.
