Where is the Sierra Pobre de Madrid?

What is there to know? The Sierra Pobre de Madrid is located between the Sierra de Somosierra and Ayllón, about 100 kilometers from Madrid. It extends through the towns of Horcajuelo de la Sierra, Montejo de la Sierra, Prádena del Rincón, La Hiruela and Puebla de la Sierra. Villages to visit the Sierra Pobre de Madrid

The Hiruela.

In a visit by bus to the Sierra Pobre in Madrid you should stop in La Hiruela, a beautiful mountain village located in the middle of peaks and mountains. In this town is the Dehesa Boyal, an oak grove that forms the charcoal trail. Also interested in its flour mill, which uses the strength of the waters of the Jarama River.

Prádena del Rincón

Prádena is another quiet town in the Sierra del Rincón, surrounded by rivers. They emphasize the Nava river and the gully of Walls. As well the visit is recommended for its traditional architecture and the Cañada de las Merinas, a road that was used in the transfer of cattle doing transhumance.

Puebla de la Sierra

Visiting the Sierra Pobre of Madrid means stopping in this town.
