The best summer destinations from Madrid to visit in a group

August is the month for big plans. Vacation time is here, and the question is always the same: where are we going? From Madrid, you have a world of options just a couple of hours away by car.

Beach destinations from Madrid

Madrid doesn't have a sea, but it has highways that lead to it in record time.

Valencia and the Costa del Azahar. About 3,5-4 hours from Madrid, Valencia is a complete destination: beaches, gastronomy, the Historic Quarter, the City of Arts and Sciences… Perfect for groups who want both beach and culture.

Murcia and the Mar Menor. Its warm and calm waters make it a highly valued destination for groups with elderly people or families with young children.

The Huelva coast. If you fancy something longer, the beaches of Huelva —especially Punta Umbría and the Costa de la Luz— are spectacular and less crowded than others.

Inland and mountain destinations
